No. The Mindset Test is an educational self-reflection tool inspired by Carol S. Dweck's implicit-theories research. It is not a clinically validated diagnostic instrument and must not be used for diagnosis, hiring, or selection.

What does my score mean?

Your score is a position on a 1–6 spectrum, where higher values lean toward a growth view and lower values toward a fixed view. It is a snapshot of what you reported today, not a label that defines you.

Why are some questions worded in opposite directions?

Half of the items describe a growth view and half describe a fixed view. The fixed-view items are reverse-coded during scoring. This balance reduces the tendency to simply agree with every statement.

Do I need an account?

No. You can take the test, see your result, and share it without signing up. No email, name, or login is required.

Are my individual answers stored?

In standard test mode, your individual answers and individual results are computed in your browser and are not stored on our servers. Only aggregated, anonymous numbers (such as a completion counter) are persisted to keep the service running.

Can I delete my data?

Because no account or identifying information is collected, there is nothing personal to delete on our side. You can clear your browser's local storage to remove any in-browser state.

How does Classroom Mode protect privacy?

Classroom Mode never asks participants for name, email, school, class, or student ID. Facilitators only see anonymized aggregated patterns — never individual answers or individual results. Aggregated views are hidden until a small minimum number of participants have submitted, and Classroom Mode sessions are automatically deleted after 30 days.

Do participants need an account?

No. Participants join with a short code and take the test in their browser. No names, emails, or accounts are required.

How should I interpret my result?

Treat your result as a descriptive snapshot, not a verdict. Mindset varies across domains and changes over time with experience, feedback, and effort. Use the result to reflect on your beliefs about learning — not to label yourself or others.

Which languages are supported?

English, Norwegian, Portuguese, Spanish, German, French, Japanese, Turkish, and Arabic. Arabic is rendered right-to-left.

Does the test work without JavaScript?

Core pages include a static fallback so the privacy policy, FAQ, and basic information are readable for crawlers and users without JavaScript. The interactive test itself requires JavaScript.
