Is the Mindset Test free? Yes. It is free to take, requires no account, and works on any modern browser. There are no paid tiers and no hidden charges.

How long does it take? Most people finish in about 3–5 minutes. There are 16 short statements answered on a 6-point agreement scale.

Is the test scientifically validated? The items are inspired by Carol S. Dweck's published implicit-theories items, but the instrument itself has not undergone formal psychometric validation. It is an educational self-reflection tool, not a clinically validated diagnostic. Do not use it for diagnosis, hiring, or selection decisions.

What does my score mean? Your score is a position on a 1–6 spectrum, where higher values lean toward a growth view and lower values toward a fixed view. It is a snapshot of what you reported today, not a label that defines you or a prediction of future performance.

Why are some questions worded in opposite directions? Half of the items describe a growth view and half describe a fixed view. The fixed-view items are reverse-coded during scoring. This balance reduces the tendency to simply agree with every statement (acquiescence bias).

What data is stored? In standard mode, individual answers are computed in your browser and are not linked to your identity on our servers. Aggregated, anonymous numbers (such as a global completion counter) are stored. Advertising and analytics cookies only load if you give consent in the cookie banner. How does Classroom Mode work? A teacher creates a room; students join with a short code and take the standard test in their browser. The facilitator sees only aggregated, anonymised patterns once a minimum group size is reached, never individual answers. Sessions auto-delete after 30 days.

Which languages are supported? English, Norwegian, Portuguese, Spanish, German, French, Japanese, Turkish and Arabic. Arabic is rendered right-to-left with mirrored UI.

Does the test work without JavaScript? The core information pages, privacy policy, and per-page article summaries are readable without JavaScript. The interactive test itself requires JavaScript.
